Smylte help
Smylte guides
Choose a source or a task. These practical guides explain what Smylte can keep on your device, how to find it again, and where the limits apply.
These guides cover v0.55.15, available in the Chrome Web Store and verified on 24 October 2026. Site changes, account access and media formats can affect what can be saved.
By source
Each website has different import and download options. Choose the guide for the source you use; Pinterest downloads do not add Pins to the Library, and Patreon support is in beta.
How to download Threads videos and photos
Download supported media from a post, understand confirmed results, or keep the post in your local Library.
Save Instagram posts and download supported photos or videos
Use Smylte for an Instagram Saved list, a public profile or one post link. Learn the download choices, account checks and limits.
Download supported Pinterest photos and videos from one Pin
Paste one full Pinterest Pin link into Smylte to download supported photos or videos. Check format limits and confirmed files without adding a Library record.
Save X bookmarks, like history and supported post media
Use Smylte to import X Bookmarks or Likes, save one exact post or download supported media. Understand existing-post updates and video limits.
Save supported Facebook posts, photos and Reels
Learn Smylte’s Facebook exact-link actions and the limited Saved-list development workflow, including unsupported formats and download confirmation.
Save accessible Patreon posts and supported media
Use Smylte’s Patreon beta for an accessible post, creator page or collection. Learn single-post downloads, run limits and access restrictions.
Using your Library
Find useful material, understand what remains after an original disappears, protect local copies, and prepare images to share.
Can I view a saved post after the original is deleted?
Understand which saved post text, previews and downloaded files remain available in Smylte, and how a local backup protects your copy.
Search saved posts, picture text and comments in Smylte
Find saved social posts using keywords, recognized image text or optional local meaning search, with practical steps and search limits.
Back up or move your Smylte Library to another computer
Choose Full backup or JSON export, check missing media, and understand Merge and Replace before restoring a Smylte Library.
Turn a saved post and selected comments into share images
Create up to 10 local PNG images from a saved post’s text and chosen saved comments, with author controls, previews and download checks.
Check support before you start
Access depends on your account, the website and the format. Smylte cannot save content a site has not loaded or bypass access restrictions. A thumbnail is not a confirmed saved video.
