Smylte guide

Save accessible Patreon posts and supported media

Smylte’s Patreon beta brings accessible posts into a local Library alongside other supported sources. Use an exact post for saving or downloading, or a creator or collection source for importing. Your access determines availability.

These guides cover v0.55.15, available in the Chrome Web Store and verified on 24 October 2026. Site changes, account access and media formats can affect what can be saved.

What to know

  • Save one accessible exact post, or import from a creator’s home/posts page or supported collections.
  • Download-only actions require one exact post; creator and collection URLs are Library-import sources.
  • Locked, blocked or unavailable content is not bypassed.

Before you start

Sign in to Patreon in the same browser as Smylte and confirm that your account can open the content normally. Allow the requested site access when starting the operation.

Choose the scope you actually need. Copy the corresponding URL for one post, a creator page, a collections index or one collection.

How to do it

  1. For one post, use the shared link tool

Open Smylte, choose Add posts in the sidebar, then expand Save posts or download media. Paste an exact Patreon post link into Post links. Choose Save this post for a local record, or Download photos only or Download videos only for files without a Library record.

  2. For a creator or collection, select Patreon (beta)

In Add posts, choose Patreon (beta). Select Home or posts for a creator source, All collections for a creator’s collections index, or One collection for a single collection. Paste the matching source link.

  3. Set the size of the import

Review Posts per run before pressing Start. It defaults to 5 and accepts 1–500. Creator and collection imports skip posts already in the Library; a single exact-post save is the route for updating that item.

  4. Follow the progress

Press Start for the source import and watch its counts. Use Stop to end the import; the single-post workflow also exposes its own stopping control while work runs. Keep the requested source page open.

  5. Verify what was retained

Check Saved, With missing media, Already saved, Locked, Failed and Not confirmed separately. Inspect confirmed download-only files in their folder when offered. A preview does not confirm full content.

What each source means

InputSupported purpose
One exact postSave its accessible content or download supported photos/videos only.
Home or postsRead available post links loaded in that creator’s visible post list.
All collectionsRead supported collection links, then their available post lists.
One collectionRead posts associated with that exact supported collection.

Available media is not every attachment

The reader associates accessible post metadata and supported media with the exact post. Supported picture/video files and unencrypted streams can be prepared within the beta’s checks. Third-party embeds, inaccessible files, unsupported or encrypted streams and missing media can remain unavailable.

For supported streamed videos, limits include 1 GB, four hours or 20,000 parts. Incomplete or invalid stream data is rejected rather than offered as a completed video. Failed and unconfirmed downloads are separate from saved files.

Run boundaries and existing entries

Creator and collection imports work with supported links the website loads during the run. Posts per run limits saved results, and a separate safety cap bounds attempted posts. Reaching a limit does not prove the remaining source is empty.

Patreon links are excluded from the shared multi-link batch. Do not expect batches or creator-wide download-only actions. Creator and collection URLs are routed to Add posts.

Preserve your local copy

Successfully saved text, previews and downloaded media remain viewable after an original disappears if you keep the local copy. Missing or locked content was never backed up by that result. Use Full Backup & Restore to protect available Library media; download-only files need a separate normal file backup.

Limits to keep in mind

  • Beta support depends on accessible exact-post metadata and supported creator or collection lists.
  • No paywall, login, rate-limit or other access-control bypass; no complete-history guarantee.
  • Some media remains unavailable even when the post text is accessible. Only confirmed completed downloads count as saved files.

Questions and answers

Can Smylte unlock subscriber-only posts?

No. It uses your current browser access. Locked, blocked or inaccessible content cannot be bypassed, and saving a title or preview does not grant the missing content.

Why do creator imports skip a post I already saved?

List imports skip known Library records. To refresh one accessible item, use its exact post link with Save this post rather than expecting a list import to update it.

Can I download all media from a collection in one download-only operation?

No. Creator and collection inputs are Library imports. Download-only actions operate on one exact post, and Patreon links are not supported in the multi-link batch.

Does the beta save a complete creator history?

No. It handles supported loaded post lists within the selected run and safety limits. Access restrictions, unavailable content, source changes or scan limits can prevent a complete result.
